Scheduling Automated Reports and Alerts
Use Notification Rules to schedule recurring report delivery and alert workflows.
# Scheduling Automated Reports and Alerts
Use Notification Rules to deliver scheduled reports, live mention alerts, and spike alerts from Saved Searches.
Automated report and alert delivery is managed through Notification Rules. A rule connects one Saved Search to one notification type, then defines the schedule, filters, and recipients.
Open:
Settings -> Notification Rules -> Rules
Click + New Rule to create a report or alert workflow.
Choose the Right Rule Type
Kommon Poll supports three notification rule types:
| Rule type | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Report | Scheduled summaries delivered daily, weekly, or on another supported cadence. |
| Live Mention Alert | Alerts when newly collected mentions match the selected filters. |
| Spike Alert | Alerts when unusual or significant activity changes are detected. |
Each rule can use only one notification type. Create separate rules when the same Saved Search needs both a scheduled report and a live alert.
For the full setup flow, see Setting Up Notification Rules.
Schedule a Report
Use a Report notification rule when stakeholders need recurring monitoring updates.
The report schedule can include:
- Frequency
- Delivery time
- Timezone
- Whether to send the report when no mentions are found
After selecting the schedule, use filters to control which mentions are included and choose the delivery destinations.
Reports can be delivered to supported destinations such as Email, WhatsApp, Slack, or Microsoft Teams, depending on which destinations are available to the team.
Configure Alert Delivery
Use Live Mention Alert rules when individual matching mentions need fast attention.
Useful alert filters can include:
- Platforms
- Sentiment
- Languages
- Countries
- Minimum engagement
- Minimum followers
- Topics
- Intents
- Authors
Use Spike Alert rules when the team needs to know about sudden changes in volume, sentiment, engagement, or other supported spike signals.
Manage Destinations First
Destinations define where reports and alerts are delivered.
Open:
Settings -> Notification Rules -> Destinations
From this page, manage:
- Email recipients
- WhatsApp numbers
- Slack workspace or channel destinations
- Microsoft Teams destinations
Destination setup is separate from rule setup. Add the destination first, then select it while creating or editing a Notification Rule.

Reusable PDF and Slide formats are managed from:

Use report formats when teams need consistent exported structures across recurring reports.
For format setup, see Report Formatting.
