Setting Up a WhatsApp Destination
Add and verify team WhatsApp numbers for notification delivery.
# Setting Up a WhatsApp Destination
WhatsApp numbers must be added as notification destinations before they can be used to receive Kommon Poll notifications.
WhatsApp destinations are managed at the team level, which means numbers added here can be made available for notification rules created within the team.
To access WhatsApp destinations, go to:
Settings -> Notification Rules -> Destinations
WhatsApp Destinations
On the Destinations page, locate the WhatsApp section.
This section shows the WhatsApp numbers that are currently saved for your team.
From here, you can:
- View saved WhatsApp numbers
- Add a new WhatsApp number
- Manage existing WhatsApp numbers
- Check which numbers are available for notification delivery
Verified WhatsApp numbers can later be selected when creating or editing a notification rule.
Adding a New WhatsApp Number
To add a new WhatsApp number:
- Go to Settings -> Notification Rules -> Destinations
- Locate the WhatsApp section
- Click Manage numbers
- Select the option to add a new WhatsApp number
- Enter the WhatsApp number you want to connect
- Complete the required verification process
- Save the number
Once successfully added and verified, the WhatsApp number will appear in the list of saved team WhatsApp numbers.
WhatsApp Number Verification
A WhatsApp number must be verified before it can be used as a notification destination.
Follow the verification instructions shown when adding the number.
After verification is completed, the number becomes available for use within notification rules.
Note: A number that has been added but has not completed the required verification may not be available for notification delivery.
Viewing Saved WhatsApp Numbers
All WhatsApp numbers saved for the team are displayed under:
Settings -> Notification Rules -> Destinations -> WhatsApp
This allows you to quickly check which numbers have already been added before adding another destination.
Click Manage numbers whenever you need to review or update the team's WhatsApp destinations.
Managing Existing WhatsApp Numbers
To manage existing WhatsApp destinations:
- Go to Settings -> Notification Rules -> Destinations
- Find the WhatsApp section
- Click Manage numbers
- Select the WhatsApp number you want to manage
- Make the required changes using the available options
This area should be used whenever you need to add, review, or manage WhatsApp numbers available to the team.
Using the WhatsApp Number in a Notification Rule
Adding a WhatsApp number only makes it available as a notification destination.
It does not automatically create or enable any notifications.
After the number has been added and verified, you can select it while creating or editing a notification rule.

The WhatsApp destination setup follows this flow:
Destinations -> WhatsApp -> Manage numbers -> Add Number -> Verify Number -> Number Available to Team
Once the number is available to the team, it can be selected from the relevant notification rule.
